Apple April Event 2021

Apple recently announced the dates of its April 2021 event and although the tech giant hasn’t officially announced as to which product is going to be launched on April 20, 2021, it’s very common for the company to launch new generation of its tablet lineup (i.e. iPad). The new generation of the iPads seems to have a lot of differences from the previous ones (obviously not design wise, everyone knows about apple’s obsession with its design). The first and the most important difference, according to leaksters and insiders is going to be the chip inside. The new chip is likely to be called the A14X which in terms of performance is supposed to be on par with the apple M1 chip, the latest ARM based chip by apple for the newer generations of macbooks which has already set the benchmarks very high for the whole semiconductor industry in terms of power efficiency without compromising on the performance.

The iPads have long been known for the productivity they provide with the integration of apple pencil. Apple pencil is the unique selling point for iPads because no other tablet maker brand provide such vast set of features and use cases with their stylus as apple does with apple pencil.
Some leaks have also tipped that apple might also launch new generation of apple pencil along with newer iPads  this year which is alleged to have higher precision than the previous generations. Recently the US Patent & Trademark Office published a patent application from Apple that relates to a future Apple Pencil with a new light sensor system that will provide a superior method of accurately selecting color for a drawing program that may allow users to pick up colors from their surrounding objects but it is highly unlikely for this feature to be present in the 3rd generation apple pencil.

This year’s iPad’s are also expected to sport an upgraded display. Unlike the previous generations which have LCD panels, this year’s iPad’s are expected to come with mini-LED display which will be able to provide better contrast ratio and color accuracy.

The pro model of iPad generally comes in different sizes but other than that, all the other specifications are same. The Apple leakster Sonny Dickson has managed to get pictures of dummies of this year’s iPads and they look identical to the 2020 model. Based on the reports, it appears that Apple is planning to launch an iPad mini too this year.
