What is beauty for you? Is it the appearance? The vibe?
For most of us, I knew the answer will be apparent. And they must know that ‘Appearance can be deceptive’ or ‘Appearance usually is deceptive’. Every coin has two sides. Only one is visible at a time, but remember there’s another side waiting for its turn to reveal the unknown.
Scars are deceptive too. And they’re deceptive to such an extent that sometimes they aren’t even visible. But still, they never fail to serve their purpose i.e the lesson they carry with them. They say that the passage of time will heal all wounds. But the greater the loss, the deeper the cut. The pain may fade, but scars serve as a reminder of our suffering and make the bearer all the more resolved, never to be wounded again.
But they are more us than just the reminder of our suffering. They’re the significance of our learning and our experience too. They are the resemblance of our bravery, of how tolerant we’ve been, and how much we’ve outgrown ourselves. People usually hold onto them like grudges. But instead of holding grudges against them, one must look at the brighter side of the picture.
Pain is inevitable but suffering is optional. There’s more to life than the pain that they made you feel. A slow song or a good friend. There are good things in life and one must only focus on them. You are the architect of your own happiness and you must not forget that. Everybody selects the choice which serves them best. Why not make a choice that serves you best?
So, CHOOSE and ACCEPT all your beauty and scars cause there isn’t a rose without thorns.
